Organic millet is grown and milled by Deruyck’s Top of the Hill Farm near Trehearne Manitoba.
Millet is a tiny grass seed, originally grown in China and Africa. Although millet is not super commonly used, it’s a wonderful grain that can be used to replace rice in savoury dishes or cooked as a porridge. It has a very mild, neutral flavour, that my kids tend to prefer over some of the other “weird” grains that I try feeding them 🙂
Although millet is a gluten-free grain, it is milled and cleaned on a farm/mill that also processes wheat/barley/rye, so there is a chance of cross-contamination. This item would be suitable for a diet avoiding gluten, but not for those with celiac or severe gluten intolerance.
