Organic wild rice from Northwest Ontario. This is the rice that we use in our oat-rice/wild-rice blend. It is sprouted to reduce the cook-time to 25 minutes, which is what matches the cook-time of our oat-rice, but is also pretty handy for cooking up a batch of wild rice in a hurry as well. And because it’s been sprouted (and ridiculously tasty!) I find myself eating it by the handful like a snack food!
This year, Shoal Lake Wild Rice supplied us with an extra-large batch (oops…but…oh well!) so we have more on hand than we can use for our own blends.
