Introducing Manitoba’s newest miller!  We’re excited that Julie Ellis has been transferring her passion from bread baking to flour milling, and the result is Bloom Bakery and Mill and their whole wheat red spring wheat flour!

Bloom Bakery and Mill is currently milling a classic hard red spring wheat that has a beautiful nutty earthy flavor and a high protein count of 14.5. Gorgeous as a flavor enhancer for breads and amazing to use for anything with a tight crumb, like cookies, muffins, darker cakes, or scones!

A word from Julie:  My passion stems from a combination of a desire to have everybody enjoy quality, wholesome, delicious, and nutritious food at a reasonable cost, and a complete and total obsession with all things grain. The history, the qualities and abilities of all flours, and all things sourdough. With this combination of interests it’s led me down the path of growing and milling our beautiful flour! It’s truly an honor to mill for you!  Our mill and 5th generation family grain farm is located just south of Blumenort, which means blooming place! We do conventional and organic farming with the aim of regenerative farming practices. We strive to keep growing and introduce new grain varieties in the coming years!
