Organic Buckwheat Flour

Our organic buckwheat is grown by Andrew Bryce, an organic farmer near Austin Manitoba.  The buckwheat is dehulled and then milled into flour on our farm.  Buckwheat is a gluten-free grain, not related at all to wheat (in fact, it’s not even a grain!).  It is, however, a close relative to sorrel and rhubarb, and a great source of B vitamins, niacin, magnesium, and copper.  The flour is processed/dehulled/cleaned and milled on our gluten-free equipment, so it is safe for those with gluten intolerance or celiacs.  We purchased a new stone flour mill just a few months ago, and are ridiculously excited about the beautifully fine flour we’re able to mill with it!

Perfect for traditional french crepes, or just to add a bit of extra nutrition and flavour into whatever you’re baking.

Of course, nothing works better with buckwheat flour than french crepes, but these zucchini buckwheat pancakes with sour cream and red onion were pretty solid too. Just perfect for a sunny afternoon lunch!
